While the first day was roughly modeled on my introduction to R from my Advanced Data Analysis course at Concordia (but with agricultural data rather than meteorological data), I have added new material for the treatment of censored data and allergenic risk assessments using Monte-Carlo simulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latter was also new territory for me. While I had immersed myself into allergenic risk assessments during the past 6 months for PhD student advising, implementing distribution estimations and Monte-Carlo simulations in R was a nice challenge!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The R packages <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"fitdistrplus (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/cran.r-project.org\/web\/packages\/fitdistrplus\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">fitdistrplus<\/a> (for distribution estimates) and <a href=\"https:\/\/cran.r-project.org\/web\/packages\/mc2d\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"mc2d (opens in a new tab)\">mc2d<\/a> (for Monte-Carlo simulations with fitdistrplus output) were extremely helpful to get the job done!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week I gave a 2-day R workshop at the Parerea group at INAF at Universit\u00e9 Laval.
